Specialty Mixes

We are able to mix specialty mixes for a variety of uses.

Ball Diamond Infield Mixes

For baseball and softball infields

Our standard mix is a mix of our high quality clay and mason sand, we can also mix in other products such as top soil, ag lime or calcined clay.

Athletic Field Topdressing Mixes

For topdressing of football and soccer fields. Also for baseball outfields

This is usually used with a topdressing machine after aerating the playing surface. Usually a mixture of our high quality top soil and sand, to which calcined clay is sometimes added.

Retention Pond Mixes and Rain Garden Mixes

Used to control water runoff. Allows water to slowly percolate through the soil instead of going directly to the storm sewer.

Our retention pond mix is a well draining medium that allows water to pass through and at the same time allows plants to get established and thrive. We use 40% sand, 40% compost, 20% top soil blend which is within the Dane County Specifications suggested range. If you have a special project, we would be happy to change the ratios to meet your specifications.

Rooftop Garden Mixes

We can custom mix to your specifications (if products are available). This would be a lightweight planting medium that can be used on rooftops for office buildings, condominium and other projects.

Horse Arena Mix

This product is a mix of our shredded clay and sand.

We were the proud supplier of the horse arena mix for the 2009 Midwest Horse Fair held in Madison Wisconsin. We worked closely with their experts to develop this mix.
