Thanksgiving Leftovers

Fall is drawing to a close and it’s time to make use of what’s left of your garden goods. Done with your  fall décor and ready for the Wisconsin winter? Here are a few ways to make the most of what you have left.

Oh My Gourd!

There are tons of ways to re-purpose your pumpkins, squash, and gourds! Place small items on your Thanksgiving dinner table to add some festive, bright accents. For bigger items that are still viable, create a garden fresh dish to pass at Thanksgiving dinner for your friends and family.

Some of our fall favorites:

  • Acorn Squash
  • Butternut Squash
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Roasted Veggies
  • Squash Soup

Trash to Treasure

Items that are unusable can be put to use as compost. Compost your leftovers to provide rich, healthy garden soil for next year. Mix your compost soil with Keleny’s compost in the spring for a great start to your 2018 garden!

Items to compost:

  • Carved Pumpkins
  • Unusable Pumpkins, Squash, Gourds
  • Left Over Bits and Pieces from Pumpkin, Squash, or Gourd Thanksgiving Treats

We hope you are able to make the most of your Thanksgiving leftovers! Happy Thanksgiving to our wonderful Keleny Top Soil customers, family, and friends!
